What is ORB
ORB is an innovation cluster that brings together science, digital engineering, and market practice in one operational environment. What makes it different from traditional institutions is its own methodological framework — a living system of processes, tools, and principles shaped through years of joint work and members’ decades of hands-on R&D experience. Every project enriches the ecosystem with knowledge that becomes the foundation for the next one. The cluster formally launched in 2024, though core organizations had been collaborating since 2018, building trust and refining shared methods long before the structure was official.

Where is ORB based?
The cluster is headquartered in Poland, with core connection between Lublin and Warsaw, but operates remote-first with distributed teams across Poland and Europe. Physical presence matters for specific activities like field research or hardware prototyping, though most coordination happens digitally.
Infrastructure runs on a private cloud built in-house under EU regulations. Working languages are English and Polish, timezone is CET.
What is the legal structure?
ORB is not a single company but a cluster of independent legal entities working under a shared framework. The core includes a research institute, an R&D center, an NGO, and an innovation consultancy. Members join to accelerate their own development through access to interdisciplinary expertise, shared infrastructure, and a project pipeline that would be hard to reach alone. Each entity maintains its own procedures, clients, financials, and legal independence.
The cluster provides coordination layer: shared principles, methodology, knowledge base, and joint project structures when needed.
How many organizations in the cluster?
The cluster consists of core founding organizations plus what the framework calls „the swarm” — a network of autonomous collaborators including specialists, researchers, engineers, and consultants who join projects based on competence fit and shared purpose. Currently the active network includes over 15 entities across various disciplines.

Entry is selective — competence and budgets matter, but so does personal vibe and capability for satisfying cooperation.
The best way to start is reaching out with a concrete challenge or idea. Initial conversation explores the fit:

- is there alignment on timelines, expectations, working style?
- do mindsets go along or collide?
If it sparks, scope definition and team configuration follow naturally.
Formal process for membership is simply a declaration of alignment with cluster values, goals and Membership Terms.
